Di bawah langit yang membakar ubun-ubun, sapaan itu lahir dari rahim sunyi….

"Mama" bukan sekadar kata yang bergetar di lidah, melainkan detak jantung tanah, yang memanggil anaknya pulang

Ia serupa karang; tegak menantang ombak,

dengan jemari selembut kapas mengusap duka

Ada wangi pinang dan peluh jujur,

dalam lipatan noken tua

Sapaan itu adalah tungku api,

tempat doa-doa dipanggang menjadi berkat

Bagi kami, Mama adalah matahari yang tak pernah terbenam, ia adalah identitas yang kami bawa melintasi samudera. Sebab di Timur, memanggil "Mama" berarti memanggil kehidupan, memanggil tanah air, memanggil Tuhan yang sedang tersenyum
